Primal Scream

Primal Scream by Rick Kup & Tatum Kempers.

13 drawings (150 x 100 cm, charcoal pastels and graphite on paper), a video and (several) projection(s) over drawings.

Primal Scream. In our hectic modern world we are increasingly distant from our true human essence. The scream is a primitive but powerful act that functions to connect with our humanity, rediscover ourselves and free ourselves from emotional baggage. The scream is a universal expression, a sound that connects us all, regardless of our background or culture. Try it: Sit up straight, close your eyes, feel the energy bubbling up and release it in one big Primal Scream.

'Primal Scream' was produced during 'Sculpta Sverige', an artist in residence project in Hassela, Sweden in 2024.

Participants in the 'Primal Scream' project are Froso Papadimitriou, Hans van den Broeck, Ellen Messing, Theo Flonk, Anja Tellin, Adam Bradley, E. Pietersen, Niels van Bunningen, Saskia Teiken, Corlinde Diesveld, Karin Oswald, Rick Kup & Tatum Kempers.
